Deer Park students entering second and third grade from across the district took center stage during this year's Summer Musical Theater Camp, directed, choreographed and taught by teacher Diana Saparito.

Throughout the weeklong program, students learned songs, choreography and performance skills before presenting an entertaining showcase for family and friends titled “We Are Growing.” The performance featured selections from popular musicals including “Brand New You” (from “13”), “Hard Knock Life (from “Annie”), “Change in Me” (from “Beauty and the Beast”) and “Revolting Children” (from “Matilda”).

“All the students shined on stage,” Saparito said. “I am so proud of how they sang and performed the program in one short week. They have bright futures in the district’s theater programs.”
