The district has appointed a familiar face as the new principal of John Quincy Adams Primary School, welcoming back Dr. Lynn Coyle. She had earlier worked as an associate principal at JQA from 2021 to 2024, before serving as principal of Park Avenue Elementary School in the North Bellmore School District for the past two years. Dr. Coyle previously worked as an elementary classroom teacher in the Islip School District and a New York City classroom teacher. 

A Mineola resident, Dr. Coyle earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Dowling College, a master’s degree in special education from Long Island University and a doctorate degree in administration and leadership from St. John's University.

“I am thrilled to be returning to JQA as principal,” Dr. Coyle said. “Serving this school as associate principal was an incredibly meaningful part of my journey, and I am grateful for the opportunity to come back in this new role. I look forward to working together with our dedicated faculty, staff and families to build on the great work already happening and help ensure every child feels known, supported and inspired to learn each day.”
