A Fresh Start for Deer Park High School’s Newest Students

Incoming ninth graders took their first steps into high school on Aug. 26 as Deer Park High School welcomed the Class of 2030 for freshman orientation. With support from administrators and upperclassmen, students began getting acquainted with the building, their new routines and the opportunities ahead.
“High school is a fresh start,” Principal Charlie Cobb told the freshmen in his welcome speech. “Your success here – and your success in life – is dependent upon the approach, effort and attitude that you put into it. We have all the tools necessary here in this school to make you extremely successful. You have to use those tools to your benefit. If you are willing to do that, you are all going to have outstanding high school careers.”
