Students from prekindergarten through 12th grade returned to the Deer Park School District’s five schools – Deer Park High School, Robert Frost Middle School, John F. Kennedy Intermediate School, John Quincy Adams Primary School and May Moore Primary School – on Sept. 3, bringing smiles, excitement and renewed energy to the start of the 2026–2027 school year. Across classrooms and hallways, new and returning students reconnected with friends, met teachers and began settling into the routines and possibilities of a new year.

"We were so excited to welcome all our new and returning students,” Robert Frost Principal Dr. Eliana Levey said. “Everyone seemed truly excited to begin the new year. Every start of school allows for a fresh start, and a chance to achieve so many goals. It's really a gift, and we look forward to a great school year ahead.”

“We were so happy to welcome our youngest learners back for another wonderful year at May Moore,” Principal Tammy Alcalde said. “The first day of school was filled with excitement, new friendships and endless possibilities.”

“The first day of school is always a special one,” JQA Principal Dr. Lynn Coyle said. “It brings such joy to see our students walk through the doors with excitement and big smiles, reminding us of what makes our school community so special. We are off to a wonderful start.”
