Our social studies program is driven by our district's dedication to educating our children to become active citizens of the global community. We believe that students must be challenged and encouraged to investigate, analyze and critique information. At Deer Park, students are taught to connect knowledge, skills, and values as they engage in historical and social inquiry that is aligned with the New York State Standards. It is vital that our students cultivate a deeper understanding of multiple perspectives and diverse experiences in order to be contributing members of the world we live in today.
