Course Descriptions

Business Communications - 6th grade is a great, practical class for the new student at Frost. Students will develop proficiency in keyboarding, language arts skills, decision making and positive work attitudes. Interdisciplinary projects incorporating Social Studies and English Language Arts are implemented along with career discovery and planning. Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations is our culmination project, combining Internet research, Microsoft Word,and PowerPoint.

Introduction to Advertising - 1/2 year, 8th grade: Enter the exciting world of magazine, radio, TV and other forms of advertising. Learn about advertising surveys and how major companies get you to purchase their products. Create ads for businesses in Deer Park, school clubs, sports and activities. You can create posters and videos and maybe become famous at the same time! (We send our videos to Channel 12).

Essentials of Computer Applications - 8th Grade: The course is broken into four sections. Review of the keyboard and language art skills, business and personal business letters, reports, resumes, spreadsheets, and databases. This course is a graduation requirement for all students. Students learn to make decisions and think on their own.
