“Mindfulness and the Four Agreements in Education,” a recent professional development course taught by Christine DiProperzio and Associate Principal Dr. Dina Pannone, provided Deer Park teachers with mindfulness practices and the principles from “The Four Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz. Teachers learned how to enhance self-awareness, emotional regulation and overall well-being to improve classroom effectiveness.
The course included mindfulness techniques, meditation practices, and stress reduction strategies, all grounded in the transformative themes of “The Four Agreements.” Through regular practice of stress reduction techniques and discussions on the benefits of mindfulness, teachers discovered how these approaches can enhance focus, concentration and academic performance. This course empowered the educators to create a mindful, harmonious learning atmosphere for their students.
“It was incredibly rewarding to watch these teachers embrace mindfulness and ‘The Four Agreements’ with such dedication and joy,” Dr. Pannone said. “Seeing them practice what they learned – creating calm, focused, and compassionate environments for their students – was inspiring.”
