At the Deer Park School District’s Feb. 25 Board of Education meeting, Robert Frost Middle School eighth grader Emily Rodriguez was recognized for being named a runner up in the 2024 Hispanic Heritage Month essay contest, for her essay “The Most Colorful Time in Ecuador.”

“You did a great job, and we are proud of you and are all behind you," Board President Donna Marie Elliott told Rodriguez.
